Due to an internal promotion, we’re excited to be looking to recruit a Product Owner to join our team. You will need to be an innovative thinker, confident communicator at a senior level and a passionate digital expert who is keen to make a real impact by bringing brilliant customer products to market. As a Product Owner at Wickes, you will focus on our trade development, from B2B/B2C, trade app and also our showroom business.  You’ll be in charge of making sure that each product you develop meets all your stakeholders needs and wants, whilst focusing on delivering maximum value. You’ll determine what features should go into each product, how it will be marketed and distributed among your target audience. We never stop improving, so you will continuously be measuring and monitoring the performance of your product, and using customer data and insights to drive decisions on further improvements and features.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building and communicating a vision and roadmap for a specific product or product set, linked to a strategic priority set and value expectation.
  • Incorporating feature requests into product roadmap and grooming and prioritising that backlog to release maximum customer or commercial value from the products you own.
  • Developing user stories and defining acceptance criteria based on a clear understanding of stakeholder requirements
  • Being clear on the definition of done for each feature
  • Product Owner responsibilities include gathering feature requests, scheduling product releases and coordinating sprints.
  • To be successful in this role, you’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver and manage product delivery. Ultimately, you’ll help us roll-out products that deliver the Wickes vision and put the customer at the heart of everything you do.

Currently the Development Team are working on Products from; Payments to Mobile Apps to Solutions which improve digital experiences for our Trade Customers to solutions for Store Colleagues and new ecommerce opportunities through marketplace platforms and improvements to the Website experience. Therefore the stakeholder set is very broad but very engaged and supportive in working collaboratively to improve our digital offer.
Communication is key for this role, and an ability to excite and enthuse stakeholders through visual presentation of product and product developments and ability to make the complex simple is a great attribute for an applicant to have.
