Here at Wickes we are looking to recruit a Night Shift Section Supervisor to be based at our Brackmills site in Northampton. The shift pattern is Mon-Fri 10pm-6am.
The Wickes retail distribution site at Salthouse road Brackmills is a key part of the Wickes Distribution infrastructure supporting the store replenishment side of the business. We are looking to strengthen the existing management structure team with enthusiastic professional individuals capable of training to a high standard. As part of your development we will train the individuals in all aspects of the warehouse roles that enable us to service our stores to a high level of consistency.
Role Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Line Manager, the Section Supervisor has accountability for all their sections with KPI target setting and measurement and resource management to hit required targets and ensure all levels of productivity are met on a regular basis to achieve levels of service to the customer within budgetary and time constraints.
To report on a regular basis to the Warehouse Line Manager on all aspects of the section / sections of the warehouse operation including KPIs, Unauthorised absence & Health and Safety as appropriate.
Ability to work over a 24 hour window to provide flexibility across all shifts to cover for holidays and absence.
Key Accountabilities:
Achieve daily targets set across designated sections. Assist in the Planning and control weekly labour requirements for assigned section / sections ensuring sufficient capability to meet fluctuating workload. Identify and react to potential problem areas within the section / sections which may require further reporting including resource and OTIF.
Act as an ambassador for the entire operation, ensuring all warehouse operatives are adhering to all health & safety procedures and maximising their potential while within their duties set for the day through close KPI management and management of operational personnel
Liaise with other Section Supervisors to ensure operational targets are identified, that regular measurement is taken against these targets and that remedial action is taken as appropriate.
Develop a highly motivated team of future Section Supervisors by encouraging open communication, holding regular briefing sessions and one to one feedback sessions
Ensure all Health and Safety Legal requirements are met and adhered to.
Ensure all section leaders are notified of failure of an employee to reach required standards or KPI targets.
Liaise with other section leaders / Shifts when required to ensure continued efficiency and better service levels as appropriate.
Actively support and communicate issues relating to operational performance including but not limited to; Health and Safety, staff colleague forums. Open surgeries, Guidance & Safety feedback framework and deputise for the WLM on occasions with regard to leading the shifts planning and targets and ensuring documentation of daily activities are logged.
