We’re looking for a skilled Front-End Developer to join our dynamic Digital Experience team. You’ll play a crucial part in delivering engaging, high-quality, and innovative web experiences for our customers. What you’ll be doing

As a Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for implementing the user interface of our digital products, ensuring an exceptional user experience across all devices and platforms. You will collaborate closely with designers, back-end developers and product managers to translate design prototypes into fully functional, high-performance, responsive web applications.

This will include: 

  • Develop and maintain front-end code for new and existing web applications using HTML5, CSS (including SASS), JavaScript, and jQuery.

  • Implement modular, responsive, and cross-browser compatible code, following industry best practices and web standards.

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure the feasibility of designs and deliver a seamless user experience.

  • Use Handlebars to develop dynamic and reusable UI components.

  • Integrate and work with various Content Management Systems (CMS), ensuring that the user interfaces are well-structured and easy to manage.

  • Maintain version control using Git for code collaboration and workflow efficiency.

  • Optimise web applications for performance, ensuring fast load times, high responsiveness, and scalability.

  • Work with the development team on bug fixing, troubleshooting, and maintaining code quality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including back-end developers and product owners, to understand project requirements and contribute to technical solutions.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in the front-end development space

About you

We’re looking for a proven Front-End Developer with a portfolio of web projects and strong communication and relationship building skills. You’ll have strong knowledge of responsive design principles and the ability to implement mobile-first designs. You’ll have experience in optimising web applications for performance, including asset optimisation and lazy loading and familiarity with SEO principles. You’ll be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to implement them as well as cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

Essential technical skills required: 

  • HTML5 and modern CSS (including preprocessors like SASS)

  • Flexbox for responsive layouts

  • Strong JavaScript skills

  • Experience with jQuery and Handlebars for dynamic page updates

  • Proficient in Git for version control

  • Proven experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) to create and manage dynamic websites
