Wickes is a digitally led, service enabled business and we’re looking for a Digital Analytics & Insight Manager to join the team and help us lead in this journey. You’ll be a digital insight expert, passionate about using data which leads to great insight and delivers actionable recommendations. We’re looking for someone who can engage all levels of the business, create, present and articulate business changing insight which influences strategic decisions and can bring to life digital and customer data reporting to help the team track and measure performance. As Digital Analytics & Insight Manager you’ll sit within the eCommerce & Digital Marketing Team and be responsible for managing customer analytics and data insight as part of the Digital business. The role will require cross functional working with other teams in Digital, including Trading, Digital Marketing, CRM, Digital Experience and Development teams, while working with other stakeholders in our Marketing and Commercial departments to support their data and analytics needs. 


What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for management of the full reporting framework and analytics suite for the Wickes Digital business, including product ownership of all reporting and utilising automation wherever possible.

  • Using analytics to understand and optimise the efficacy of different digital marketing channels to drive performance. 

  • Responsible for managing customer analytics and data insight within Digital, leveraging data to surface insight and understand customer behaviour which drives action through marketing

  • Providing ongoing market leading insight to help inform the product development roadmap for Trading, Digital Marketing and UX while improving performance in these areas.

  • Work with the CRM Customer Database manager and our Customer Data Platform to join up digital channels by leveraging 1st party data through the Google Marketing Cloud and support roll out of the Mission Motivation Engine (MME)

  • Overseeing, managing, auditing and providing guidance on web analytics and web analytics tools (specifically Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, Google Tag Manager, SimilarWeb, ContentSquare) 

  • Work with agency partners (CRM Agency, Analytics Agency, Digital Marketing Agency) to support the big objectives of the Digital team

  • Ownership of all onsite and third party tag implementation, cookies / privacy management 


What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of using data to uncover insight and drive action presenting results in a simple way. 

  • Extensive knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and other products within the Google Marketing Platform.

  • Experience of using tag management solutions such as Google Tag Manager. The ability to set up and maintain onsite tags and also third party tags, utilising custom javascript and regex when required. Understanding of a DataLayer.

  • Experience of using and maximise role of Similar Web in providing web traffic analytic (or similar)

  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Looker Studio (preferred), Tableau, Qlik, etc.

  • Strong SQL, with experience using SAS, BigQuery or others tools.

  • Strong stakeholder and agency management – liaising with the business and external stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of dependencies, deliverables and issues/risks.

  • Experience of working with development teams, utilising project management tools such as Jira.

  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills and experience using VBA to automate processes.
